The past two weeks have been full of hard work and great performances! March 15 was the Pensacola Music Teachers Association's annual Sonata Contest where 23 of my students competed with over 500 piano, string, band, and voice students. It is always a great event and it is so inspiring for the students to see so many other people their own age enjoying music like they do. I am so proud of all the hard work put in by each and every student! The following students were all awarded certificates of participation and a large number of them were honored with special awards for their performance:
Emily (violin) - 2nd Place Carissa (piano) - Honorable Mention Nathan (piano) - Honorable Mention Alex (piano) Mary Katherine (piano) Norma (piano) - Honorable Mention Emerson (piano) Alyssa (piano) - 2nd Place Sydney (piano) Emily (piano) - 1st Place Benjamin (piano) Sara (cello) Emma (piano) Abigail (piano) - 3rd Place Kaci (piano) Clayton (piano) Phillip (piano) - Honorable Mention Lucy (violin) - 2nd Place Carson (violin) - Honorable Mention Matthew (piano) Miya (piano) - Honorable Mention Lydia (piano) - 2nd Place Katie (piano) - 2nd Place The following two students participated in the Florida State Music Teachers Association's District 1 Concert Competition. This is a fantastic event that encourages an early exposure to concerti. I would love to see even more students entered in this event next year! Alyssa - 2nd Place Luke - Honorable Mention |
